source taken from UO.UHall Last week, we fixed an exploit that allowed players to dupe certain items using the imprisoned dog. The duped items are still in the game, but we will be addressing them in an upcoming publish.
Currently, we do not plan to delete most of these items; rather they will be altered in various ways so they become common items that are obtainable by all players. Please do not purchase these items, as they will lose their value when they are changed.
However, we reserve the right to remove these items at any time. Don't buy them there selling cheap fro mthe scum that made them let them eat the ones they bought. and
It would have been much better if they deleted these items when they first came about and then just did a scan/delete on the entire shard once the issue was fixed. But no, here we are months later with thousands of players buying these items and the dupers making billions of gold. And they continue to make gold everyday selling these items to unsuspecting players while useless warnings, which don't even say which items are duped, are posted to the FYI. Wilki_UO Community Coordinator Yes, JC, it would've been much better. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Because of the way UO was built, we didn't have a way to "scan."
Keyword there is "didn't."
As I've mentioned before, we're taking cheating very seriously. However, given the age and complexity of UO, it is not a simple process to get to where we want to be. and Thank you Wilki, I couldn't have said it better.
Remember we are dealing with an OLD system....they are working on it...there is proof...just have patience and be happy. and
That's great to hear eh.
I love reading keywords.
I'm very happy to see that ya'll have been taking the issue of cheating very seriously these days. It's a good sign, a very good sign, for UO, imho.
Keep up the good work devs. and Why don't you guys just disable or remove the crystal dogs until this is resolved? Why are you guys allowing all this duping to continue? Wilki_UO Community Coordinator because it has already been fixed. Dogs and any creature that mimics appearance should no longer be a source of duped items. and While it stinks we have waited so long to get this issue fixed , everyone has been warned enough on this issue , I wouldn't find it a surprise that one day everyone will log in with funny little robes or totally removed items.
How hard would it be to make a system that can tell players its a legal item , example : player 1 sells me a robe this is duped , in the trade window track the item to see if its legal or not , or vendors doing bot checks and removing these?
