| The weakness of the warrior.
When i started Uo, i began to develop my character as a warrior. It looked as the easiest choise and for some time all was well. But now - it seems i am stuck. I can confront most of the medium level monsters, but each one that little stronger kills me without any problem. They eather smash my armour in few big hits, or cast some spells i have no chance to resist. I searched all the list in Stratics - i can't even get close to half of the monsters there. My warrior skills are high, not far away from their maximum level, and i don't see any change happening . I developed the chivalery - it helps, but not too much.
So my question is - does warrior have any chance in pvm? All of the Stratics descripions tells about mages. tamers, archers... Maybe i should avadon the warrior and start a new character?

What kinds of critters are you going after? And what do your skills look like now? Also, what types of armor and weapons you use make a difference too.

My base skills now are:
Chivalery 68.2
Healing 83.6
Magic Resistance 82.6
Parrying 86.5
Swordsmanship 104.8
Tactics 102.2
Anatomy 103.6
As you see, there is not too much space left to develop anything. I have some magery and meditation too, but they are marked down and soon will totally disappear. All my resists are above 60, some are even full 70.
The weapon i usually use is katana with mana drain - neccesary for using of chivalery and special hits Without chivalery it usually hits around 25- 30, depends on the creature. Sometimes i use slayers on special kinds of monsters.
My main goal now is to rise my fame and karma - but most of the monsters that still give me someting on that are almost impossible to kill. I hunted daemons in the temple, but even single dragon wich also lives there can kill me with just few firebreaths. And so its going on, with no hope for a future - there are too many monsters i will never be able to hit. I can't survive even in the first level of most dungeons.

With your currents stats, you can survive in PvM. Change your tactics. Try "Hit & Run". Dont stand there and exchange "Blows". You Swing and Move, and when your swing clock has reset (dependent on weapon) come back for another attack. Macro a heal for you, so you dont have to click on the band aids all the time.

I do all this, is the only way i somehow survived till now. But still, sooner or later i don't run fast enough and some long ranged spell hits me down. I am starting to be desperate.

Death is a part of the game for every character type get use to it.
I have 3 dedicated warrior characters and I do very well with them
I also have a mage/necro and a mage/tamer and I go OoOoOOoooOOOoo just as much with them as I do with the warriors.
the problem is that they made the game so it is almost impossible to go it alone. you need to be in a group to take on the harder monsters and yes I think that stinks.
I think you should always have a fighting chance once you GM your skills. one hit kills weather it is PvM or PvP just stinks. I remember when doom first opened up I watched a guy solo a dark father it took him about 4 hours to kill but he did it! (and yes it was fun to watch and yes he wanted to see if he could do it so we agreed to stay out of the fight). Now the tougher monsters just smack you once and you die its not very fun.
I know they have been looking into ways to make the fights last longer and still be challenging. I just hope they can find a solution quickly.
Until then I do wish that they would open up an area that is for warriors only like they have the city Wind for mages. Some place that is toxic to pets and spells fizzle! now that would be fun!

Covetous should've been like this, it's supposed to be a blackrock mine and blackrock messes up the Ether preventing magic from being cast...
...warriors can do just fine against most non-boss creatures alone, you just really do need a few item properties. Firstly getting the weapon skill to 120 or as high as you possibly can helps tons, and for PvM maxing out DCI should be another goal. Add in high parry and you're well set to defend against melee attacks and mostly worry about spell damage only.
In the case of dragons, the firebreath weakens as their hit points lower. So get in a few good hits before the first firebreath and it shouldn't be a problem anymore.
You didn't mention your character's stats, so hard to say, but is your dex high enough? It'll both make you swing faster - kill the opponent quicker - and speed up your bandage timer.
For your fame and karma gains I'd recommend doing daemons in the Blood Dungeon, or if the possibility of paragons is too much, then Fire Dungeon. Nice spawns there with nothing else bothering you than the daemons.
