New Veteran Rewards Aug 4 2006 2:43PM CST [This document is subject to change.]

In appreciation for our long-term players, Ultima Online currently offers a number of Veteran Reward gift items that you can’t get anywhere else in the game. The more months a UO game account remains active, the more gifts that account can claim. There are currently multiple vet reward sets for 1 through 5 year veterans of UO. We are in the process of adding a new choice for year 1 vets, as well as choices for year 6 through year 9 vets.
All reward options are blessed.

1st Year Vet Reward: The following item is an additional choice being added to the list of reward choices for players whose accounts have been active for 12 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 12 months or more will be able to select or use this new reward item.

• Red Soulstone
  • Allows you to store and transfer skills between characters on the same account
  • Can be used as a decoration in your house
  • Soulstones are account specific - Soulstones do not work on accounts other than the one that was used to claim it. For more information on Soulstones, click here.

6th Year Vet Reward: The following is the 6th year reward item that will be available to players whose accounts have been active for 72 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 72 months or more will be able to select or use the 6th year reward item.

• Player Statue Maker
  • This is a decoration for your house
  • Can be used to make a statue of yourself
  • The statue will mimic your appearance, including clothing, armor and weapons
  • You can choose among three poses for the statue
  • There are three statue makers - each uses a different type of material:
    • Bronze
    • Alabaster Marble
    • Jade
  • Statue makers can only make statues out of one of the material types (if you pick a bronze statue maker, that particular statue maker will not be able to make statues out of marble or jade.)
  • Each material will have a small selection of available hues
  • Statue will be mounted on a plinth
  • The plinth will have a plaque with the character's name and the date it was created
  • The statue is re-deedable, so you change it as many times as you wish

7th Year Vet Reward: The following is the 7th year reward item that will be available to players whose accounts have been active for 84 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 84 months or more will be able to select or use the 7th year reward item.

• Decorative Cannon
  • This is a decoration for your house
  • Can be rotated
  • Can be fired:
    • Will make a cannon firing sound
    • Will have a particle effect
  • Requires a powder keg to be reloaded

8th Year Vet Reward: The following is the 8th year reward item that will be available to players whose accounts have been active for 96 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 96 months or more will be able to select or use the 8th year reward item.

• Weapon Engraving Tool
  • Used to engrave a single line of text onto a weapon
  • Uses a rare gem to engrave that must be replaced periodically:
    • Only highly skilled tinkerer's can replace the gem
    • NPC tinkerer's will replace the gem for a fee (you provide the gem)

9th Year Vet Reward: The following is the 9th year reward item that will be available to players whose accounts have been active for 108 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 108 months or more will be able to select or use the 9th year reward item.

• Rideable Polar Bear
  • Non-ethereal, summonable mount (like The Charger of the Fallen)
  • Will be a status symbol, as only the oldest veterans will be riding a polar bear

Well, I have to say, they all look pretty cool EXCEPT the 9th year. A rideable polar bear? As a player who has been around since the beginning, I'm not really thrilled to be able to ride a polar bear. It wouldn't be in character for Eowyna to be seen riding a bear. Seems like they sort of ran out of ideas. Personally, I'd have switched year 6 and year 9.

However, the rest of them look great!! Somebody I know will be holding out for that cannon! Or perhaps a statue of himself.

Aye the 9th vet reward is... okay but I think they could have had something better. I was thinking maybe people can get a pair of boots and double click on the items and window will pop up and you can choose a "illusion" and once you choose the illusion you want you can NOT change it. The item to be blessed and whenever you put on them boots you change to the form you choosed. You keep the same stats though no changes to anything other than your apperance. So say if you choosed a ratman you walk around as a ratman can still run around, cast, fight, polymorph, and ride mounts (though wouldn't show it. Just see your character run as fast as a horse or whatever would) Now that would be a rockin' award! Also I would allow them to be tradeable amoung other people incase a vet wants to leave the game and want to give a special item to thier close friends or something.

Man that would be cool haha... I am hardly a vet =P Ah well what can you do ^_^

ya I'm a 9th year vet too and I'm not sure about the bear
I think I would have preferred a wyvern/drake or even a silver steed.


But I do like all the other ones

Ohhh... yes! Polar bear, no. But I'd KILL for a Silver Steed. In fact, I think I'll start a campaign for a 9th year choice...polar bear for those Japanese players who love them so or silver steed for those who find the polar bear thing just a bit too "cute".

I think that is a nice assortment to add to the existing vet reward system.

My only question would be about the cannon. How do they recharge (what is a powder keg) Since it cost a vet reward choice it should not have to be recharged.

The soulstone being a 1st year reward is great.

I dont think I like these. 1st years get a SS??????? How about making younger accts like 2nd yr be able to ride an ethy.. I will have to read it a couple more times to see if it grows on me or not. I just got my 36 month yesterday, so I have a long time to go before the new ones take effect, Im still happy about ditching my chargers and riding my new ethy llama!

At first I was erked about the red ss for 1st year but then I realised that the other stones were given to people who had just bought the game and never played. So I think it is fair.

but the polar bear???? I still think it should be a silver steed
or lower in the list maybe exchange the Weapon Engraving Tool for the bear.

Think they could have given you a choise of ridable pets for year 9, not just the bear.
