| A few questions
Hey guys, i'm an old school UO fan. I was actually thinking of turning back to UO after quitting WoW. I'm trying to learn all these new spells, skills and weapons and i've come across items which have 'spell channeling' ability. What does it do? Also, do hp and mp regenerations have certain limits? And what does 'fast recovery' mean?
Thanks |

spell channeling means that you can cast magery with it in your hands, and not have to disarm to cast. There is no hpr or mr limits that I know of, although I have heard that there is a mr of 15 or 16 cap. Dont quote me 100% on this tho. Fast recovery/Fast cast is the time it takes to cast the spell, and the recovery is the time it takes you to be able to cast another spell right away. Magery is capped at 2fc/6fcr, chivalry is 4fc/6fcr, necro 2fc/6fcr. Hope that helps ya some! Welcome to the Forums too!

This is a good guide to read on item properties http://guide.uo.com/itemproperties_0.html
Basically spell channelling means you can cast a spell while still holding a weapon/shield in your hands.

Spell channeling allows you to cast a spell, or meditate while holding the weapon. Normally you would drop the weapon whne casting. Works great with my mage/fencer/paladin.
I don't know about regen limits, sorry.
Fast recovery allows you less recovery time between spells. There is fast cast, and fast cast recovery. FC makes the spell actually cast faster, FCR lets you cast another spell sooner.
And welcome to the boards, hopefully welcome back to UO!
~Edit~ Wow where did those post above me come from?? That is what I get for using tabs for browsing and not refreshing the tab before posting.

A couple of other things:
1. I heard that a lot of people hang out in Luna. I can't remember anywhere named Luna, can someone link a global map please?
2. What's the difference between Felucca and Trammel?
Again, thanks a lot! |

Felucca is probably the rule set your used to when you first started. Open Pvp and Thievery, as opposed to Trammel no pvp and no thievery. Trammel doesn't have that dead tree look like Felucca.
Bo posts any faster, we may think he is speed hacking, and will have to install PunkBuster on the Forums.

ok, luna is in Malas, a new landmass that was introduced in the Age of Shadows expansion. If you go to any moongate, and click on Malas, Luna, the bank is not more than a stones throw away from it. It is where the mass amounts of vendors are found too. The place is very overpriced, so when you hear "luna prices" that means the inflated prices at the vendors placed there.
Feluccia is of course what used to be the only landmass to play on, where pvp is the way of life and this is where the champion spawns are, that reward power scrolls(scrolls that let you take your skills to 105,110,115,120),
Trammel is the mirror image of it, but no pvp, and less desolate. Its where most people hang out and hunt. Due to the addition of trammel, Fel has died pretty severely, and I would say 90% of the folks that play, dont leave Tram, as the risk there is pretty limited, other than wherever you hunt.
