Firstly I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who came along Saturday night and I am very sorry for the delay in this report.
Everything was set for the Bloodguard to meet at Britain Palace and an assault on Papua to clear it of the Ophidian invasion. Then things all changed as reports came in of increased activity in Papua and of a new
BNN article. It was also discovered that you could no longer recall into either Papua or Vesper, so plans had to be changed and new runes marked. Things were soon readied and the Palace began to fill up with many valiant people from all over Sosaria, most taking the opportunity to dress themselves in the red of the Bloodguard. With grateful thanks to everyone Lady Flame gave a short speech as to the objectives of either removing the Ophidians from Papua or causing them as much problems as possible, as well as uniting together as Sosarians without malice toward one another with a common cause. Once the speech was over everyone left to go through one of 2 gates available in the Palace Courtyard that took them to a bridge just north of Papua.
Crossing the bridge and pushing quickly through a few Ophidians on the outskirts everyone was soon in Papua and fighting fiercely. All working hard to keep one another alive they ploughed through armies of Ophidians ranking right up to Generals. Fighting continually the area was finally cleared round the docks and we were able to check in the cellar for Liane but we were sadly too late as we found her body along with that of an Ophidian at the bottom of the stairs.
Not letting this sad moment stop us everyone pushed on till at last most of Papua was clear and everyone could not believe that they had done it, or had they. Slowly a Brood Queen were spotted, as soon as one was taken out it seemed another one would appear in another part of town, then suddenly after some time of searching and killing Brood Queens Papua was once again under attack, but now from Ophidian Berserkers. These were hard opponents indeed, almost immune from most attacks laid on it and it slayed many a fighter or pet before they fell. Slowly though they died before the united efforts of everyone present. Just before the last one fell though Papua was under yet another full scale invasion as reinforcements arrived under the control of more Generals and so we continued for yet another round of fights. It was after the second group of Berserkers fell that it was decided to pull back for the night and regrouped back in the palace once more. Thanking everyone once more Lady Flame then opened another gate, but this time to Vesper as reports had been made that help was needed and those that were able continued to try and push back the invasion. Although we were unable to rout the Ophidians this night we were successful in fighting as a unified unit and thus had a great victory, I look forward to joining you all again soon for another assault.
It has since been discovered that Power, Vanquish or Mystic weapons that are found on the corpses of generals are the best way to defeat the Berserker. Although please note that not everyone gets to see the damage they are doing to the Berserker and only 1 person or party gets the looting rights. With the chance of a cursed arty drop going a far as I can tell to the one/ones with looting rights.
