Re: a good post

Bah. Animals think. They just don't think like humans think. Anyone who says animals don't think has never had a pet.

Re: a good post

Hey!! They pick up on our feelings if we have been their friends. My daughter had a little cat she got from a shelter, about to be euthanized... She knew when I was feeling badly and used to curl up beside my shoulder on the bed, just touching me with her toe... My own cat does that sometimes too. Usually only when things aren't going well for me. They know.

Re: a good post

Animals have feelings and have an idea on whats going on.

Once as a Soldier I was assigned to protect a Sergeant First Class (E-7) whose orders were to euthanize a dog who had been living in the area we established a camp. The Dog was there first, but a military vetinarian inspected the camp and ordered the dog euthanized. When the E-7 placed the 550 cord around its neck and lead it to the Humvee. That dog knew what was going on. It was whimpering and crying, and making us all feel bad. From that moment on, we let the E-7 know how much "Bull !!!!" this misson was and before we reached the euthanize site, we let the dog go. It was several klicks "Kilometers" away, but we prayed that the dog found another home and never return to the camp, or we would be court martialed.

Re: a good post

I had a German Shepard Lady dumped on our property about 10 years ago and fell in love with her. (used to just hate German Shepards due to bad exp) she had pups... we couldn't afford to have her spayed... she and the pups attacked a cow that was calving at the neighboring farm... we were to put them down and no charges were going to be made and no financial issues.. the guy was a friend. Well, my husband got out the .22 and took one of the pups and shot it.. went to get the second and it resisted big time. We had thm all on ropes.. Lady jumped her pup and 'yelled' at it til it quieted... we took it away..not in sight and shot it.. she then walked quietly with my husband to her own death. I never cried so hard. She knew... and still was obedient. It still hurts to think of it.
