The Focus skill.

I am a warrior (mostly). My focus already grow above 95, and continue to go up. Is it really so important skill, or i can reduce it and move the skill points to another places?

Re: The Focus skill.

it really isnt that necessary. with chivalry, you can use divine fury and refresh your stamina, or stamina leech/mana leech on a weapon, or have stam regen/mana regen on your suit. You can find a much better area for those points. I wouldnt suggest it myself. Some people may want it on their templates, its their choice, but there are far more options than to have to waste 100 skill points

Re: The Focus skill.

On a melee Paladin or melee Samurai there just isn't room for Focus. Archers can use Focus because they don't use Parry. Casting characters (mages, necros, spellweavers) have room for Focus also. A pure melee Warrior has room for Focus, but pure melee warriors are at a disadvantage because they lack the damage multipliers that Chivalry or Bushido provide.

Bottom line: for most people, it's the first skill on a template that you sacrifice.

Re: The Focus skill.

Just be sure to settle on a skill level divideable by 10 once you figure out how much Focus you want to keep. This is because Focus only gives any benefit in even tens, and the most benefit in even 20s. To make it clearer:

Every 10 points of focus gives you 1 stamina regen
Every 20 points of focus gives you 1 mana regen

So for example, 60 focus gives you 6 stamina regen and 3 mana regen. Whereas 50 focus would give 5 stamina regen and 2 mana regen.

Also, if your character is human, it has 20 Focus by default even if you don't spend any points in Focus. So you're guaranteed 2 stamina and 1 mana regen (and as a result, spending 20 points on focus would be completely redundant).

Re: The Focus skill.

I think for someone who is going to play a mage, it is a justifiable skill. But for someone who is going to be a warrior type, there is just no room for it. They need skills like anat, tact, heal, chiv, weapon, parry, possibly ninjitsu/bushido. There is no room on that template for it. On a mage, yes, with mage, eval, med, resist, possible weapon skill, focus, it's doable.

Re: The Focus skill.

Well, actually i am a warrior, trying to combine it with some magic. Don't have chivalery or bushido. For now, i locked the focus in about 96, but when my main warrior skills will grow higher i will start to decrease it.

Re: The Focus skill.

Yeah, when training up a new toon I will let this skill go up, wish others was as easy to get to 100.0 as focus. But as soon as the Skill cap is hit, Its the first one to drop.

Well lately most of the ones I been training up have been Magic Based, Magery Inscription Necromancy and Spellweaving. All those glourious Mana based skills. Have a weak mana regen suit only like 10 or so, So decided to let Focus come on up for every little bit of mana regen I could get.

Re: The Focus skill.

Most of my mages don't have room for focus but I make sure all my paladins have at least 100 focus. I love it. I never lose any stamina, and my mana comes up pretty quick.
