We need a forum that will allow us to vent and talk about heated subjects without deleting our posts while communicating the info to the whole UO community. Some things are disturbing. We need a forum that will let us post things that arent friggin' role playing, and shard events, and how to make up a song so you can mine ingots all day without getting bored.

Not everything in UO is sunshine and pixie dust. Things can go wrong and we should be able to talk about it. The 70's are over. Someone forgot to tell that to other sites, (I won't be naming here).

One of our members is being harassed irl. The police are investigating but its a little hard for them to do that is all the have to go on is someone's virtual name is a virtual world in a pc game that can have multiple users for the same account. What is EA prepared to do to insure our safety? What is being done to assisst the police when they call EA to find out info about these perps hiding behind their computers?

I know they have a "pat" answer when someone asks tough questions. I have played 8 years. I also know that when the same thing happened to me, EA would not give the police any info or do any internal investigation without a court order. It ties the hands of the police to try to pursue, "Joe Q UO Player" when they don't have a real name to give a judge to ask for a court order!

It shows that you are being mature in this situation, by acting professional and going about it a diplomatic way.
We are a very helpful and supportive forum, and are always willing to help those people who ask for advice. What is going on between your 2 guilds and the peoples involved is very serious. Maybe you can take your issue up a notch in the legal chain.. Maybe find someone who handles internet security, like homeland security or something. I dont know.. Best thing to do is to remove yourselves from further contacts with this guild. Dont give them the pleasure of letting yourselves be harassed on their websites. I saw the links earlier and read what was being said on both guild forums. Remember to be positive, and just let the system work.

There is no information given to the police in the real world. I am very sad to say that it has been my experiance that when the police call UO, they are told to get a court order. They aren't allowed to investigate real info. Its has been my experiance that Joe Q UOplayer gets away with his crime because the police can't prosecute a virtual character and EA won't investigate or give the police a name to even begin an investigation.

As far as in-game goes, I will gladly take you up on your offer. What about when a player uses the "N" word and doesn't get banned? What about when the same player calls another player's mother irl harassing her, then makes fun of the player in game and says, "Don't make me have to take this up with your mother." So far the other player has gotten away with it all completely and is still playing.

I have no issue if this is posted in one forum, in one thread, but what I don't want is for the thread to bash another UO fan site.
