Bring Back UO!!

I did play Pre Tram. Back when stepping outside Britain meant losing your regs/armor to a red, training in Shame also meant pvp training.. like it or not, when reds had bounties. When theives could enter your house and steal from your chests, if you could get to your house past the red house campers. When gm mages with Lord/Lady title were godly, tamers ruled the hunting grounds, and you actually got to meet GM's, Counselors etc. When you didnt have a choice, rp events constantly griefed by non rp pvp'ers.

I have a ton of fond memories from those days, long time friends Ive made, and I remember having a blast back then, learning all the new experiences. But, I like the choices I have now. No one makes me use item insurance or an lrc suit, I choose too, and I know many folks who choose not to. I can choose to hang out in Tram or Malas and rp with friends, or choose to go to fel on alt chars and run around pvp'ing all day.

Any game that does not grow and expand aka change, grows stale, quite simple. The 'golden age' of UO is different for each person, according to their preferences. Having a variation of types of shards to play would definately be another wonderful choice for those who prefer it. Personally, Im sure I would make chars and check em out as well. But, to say the changes have killed the game I cant agree with. Perhaps killed the enjoyment for some people, but enhanced it for others. I intend to be here quite some time longer, anxious to see what new changes, and choices, come around

I agree with all of you and noone is wrong because it is their opinions. And thank you for your feedback.

Like many stated, there would be no counter-benefit to adding Pre-XXX shards, as many people would "come back," and many people would create alts or transfer over to those shards.

We all have our different memories and past experiences of the old-days, and frankly I got my thrill from the risk that was involved with the game back then. It gave me a challenge and an ocasional adrenaline rush. =P

If the UO representitives were to create 1-2 shards with a Pre-XXX ruleset I can gaurantee 100% they would statisfy many people, and make more money. It is "ONLY" a beneficial decision in my eyes, and it would make me a happy man.

The land of no restriction, the land of risk, the land of "reds", the land of vengance and deciet, the land of house decay, the land guild vs. guild PvP, the land of criminals, the land of Sosaria. The element of "realism" (with respect to the intrinsic risk involved in real life) made this game undoubtfully the best I have ever played... When that element was gradually taken away (tram/fel, item insurance, ungodly armor/weapons etc.) the game became less and less fun. (for most atleast)

My plead... PLEASE bring this back, this element that I and many others miss so much. Perhaps create a seperate shard... PRE-T2A, absolutely nothing after the T2A expansion... just plain-old Sosaria... I beg of you!!

I would re-subscribe in a heart beat, and I can gaurantee thousands would follow.

I to am one of those players. I am now playing WoW but if UO was to open a Pre 2TA shard I would switch immediatly.

Yes I too am playing WoW.. and if they opened a classic shard on UO, I would switch as well.

The same thing happened to Dark Ages of Camelot.

Expansion after expansion came out, and it dulled out the game... Recently they created 3 new servers which are "classic" in a sense they are governed by the rulesets and limitations before the "Trials of Atlantis" expansion pack. Over 8000 people resubscribed to the game, and the servers were PACKED.

Why would this not have the same effect on a game that indefinately had and has more subscribers than DAoC ever had? And not to mention it's pure superiority in gameplay and PvP.

Judging by the number of people that play the free shard alternatives and the rule sets on said shards, i'd imagine opening a classic shard, be it Pre AOS or Pre UOR, would bring alot of people back to UO

I'd love to play a pre aos shard, not sure about pre uor.
