OK.....today (being a holiday and wifey working...hehe) decided to go for the 'Know thy Humility' quest.
Doing the first three parts of the quest Iwent off fighting Cyclops and Titans in Ish. Fitting this in round the few house chores I had to do I had three 'bursts' in the game of approx three hours each.
During these times I killed an awful lot of Cyclops, Titans and Ettins, this generated Paras which I killed (and they killed me too lol). I recieved two arties and NO chests.
My question is ...What's the ratio of chests to paras? Anyone know?
My player had only 85 luck and played off and on from 0830 to 1845.

I did get one at the end, I was killed by a Cyclops Para....when I got back to it a Lady Magi was taking it on. As I recovered my body it attacked me again, she gave me back my money which it looted from me and a chest which she placed on the floor, this was the only one I got ....just before I logged.

I have heard its about the same as getting a Treasure Map, which is about 5% chance.

The main stratics site says that the chance for a chest dropping is 1 in 10. What you saw was the randomness of the RNG at work. I farm the ettins in the outer valley daily, and the chests drop with no pattern, rhyme or reason. Sometimes I can go for a couple of hours without a chest, at other times three drop in a row.

That low????

I have been out before and got a good load of chests by killing a lot less...must have hit the jackpot that time LOL.

i wouldnt say 1 out of 10. Baes on my personal experiences I would guess 4 out of 10. But that isnt "proved" so i dont know.

Well apart from the lack of Para Chests I completed the quest and got my 'Cloak of Humility'.
Looks smart now I just need the rest of the special armour....can any of these be got by quests?

Well so far only 3 pieces have been released. 2 as 8th Age Gifts and the Cloak. I do expect the rest will be released in quests or at least some of them.
They even hint that later on the 8th age gifts maybe released as quests.

Now that leave me in a quandry......do I go out to buy them or wait and see if they become quest items.

Have to see if any are for sale I think then it depends on the price LOL.

I am pretty sure they will become quest items, probably 2-3 months after the last piece is release.
