Just curious

I used to play the piano, well, whenever I could at school anyways
I never took lessons or anything, because I didn't have a piano at home
I could read sheet music ok, but most of the time, i'd hear a song, or theme, then try and play/learn it by "ear"

I took piano lessons between the ages of 12 and 14, but never thought I was that good at it. We had a piano at home and my Mom pretty much made me take lessons because she thought someone in the house should learn to play. I wish now that I'd stuck with it cause I love music. I think I stopped mainly because my Mom was pushing me so hard to play and well, I just had to push just as hard not to continue.

Hmm I have once played the piano and the oboe, Never took any lessons or anything though.

I started out playin trumpet when I was like 8. Later I picked up drums, bass, guitar, keys. I grew up in a blues house. My dad played with all the Chicago blues greats, and that was kinda just how it was. Koko Taylor (BB Kings equivelant, she is the Queen of Blues) used to babysit me and my sister, Buddy Guy, Clapton are a few I remember, but I guess he played with em all. I played in a blues band in highschool, and continue to this day, to play blues.

Funny story, the band Chicago used to play in my grandmas garage, they started out as a big group with my great uncles band, they were called The Mob, well after a few years, they split up, Chicago became big, and my uncles band went...not far. My uncle played with cheap trick, my dad played with Styx, when they were all in highschool and afterwards. They were all garage bands and all knew eachother.

i play piano (since age 6) violin (since age 9) viola (since age 12) and sing (however long?) and handbells (since freshman year of college) and have played those in church and professionally since then. *breathes*

Started out at age 9 playing violin. Banged around on my Dad's old guitar, and started learning that. Junior High, played tenor sax. High School, I switched to trombone. I made my living for 8 years solely as a guitar player... studio work, sideman gigs.. solo gigs.. you name it, I played it, style-wise. Before that, I was "semi-pro".. meaning I just played on weekends. I've been playing guitar now for 27 years.

I play bass, keys and drums. In the studio, I have also played sitar and balalaika.

So... yes, I do play some musical instruments.

I play guitar...do I do it well? hmm...I'm not bad. I took Classical Guitar in school..learned out to read sheet music and play that...I was in an advanced quartet and we preformed a few times. So I guess I'm good at classical...better then I am with normal music anyway! lol

I've banged around on the drums..and I would love to learn how to play them. But I never got a chance to get into it.

I can't play anything at all, I have tried but sadly I am tone deaf and can't hold a tune, I even whistle badly

I play the guitar, not too well. I took piano lessons when I was younger. I wasn't too good at it either. I hated practicing. But now I wanna get back to playing.

Yea I want to get back to practicing, i'm tempted to RENT a digi piano, to see if I like it

I'd rather rent one, than spend 1k out on a decent one and never use it, hehe
