Are the people lining up for office over there not at least a bit better candidates than him? Or are they just opposed to democracy because its being forcefed to them? |

Bush doesn't have to worry about his approval ratings since this is his last term. There was a comedian on the other night that said, "It isn't that Bush wanted to be the president, it is that he wants to be the LAST president that is the problem." ![]() We are all broken and wounded in this world. I can't wait to see Saddam win an election and become the elected ruler of Iraq! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Bush's approval rating By you saying that you cant wait to see Saddam win an election, is a slap in the face to every one of us who spent god knows how many months over in that hellhole missing Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, (6 years ago, I spent my 21st birthday, in the middle of a sandstorm trying to repair a damaged runway, not able to have that first legal beer) trying to remove him from power. Try telling that to any of us, myself included who have seen Iraqis spit on his posters and statues, and thank us personally for removing him. The man caused massive trauma on that entire region for way too long, and he needed to go. Bush may not be the most popular among presidents in history, but he is doing the best he can, given the situations he has been handed. He didnt ask to have 3 planes to crash into American buildings, he didnt ask for a hurricane to jack up his country, he didnt ask for CNN to report on every dump he takes and twist it into a political firestorm. Vietnam was 100000 times worse, but we didnt have to hear about every little splinter someone got in the warzone. The media has crippled our military today. They are the ones that want you to hate this administration. People need to think for themselves, not what foxnews, cnn, msnbc, or pain in the ass actors tell them to believe. Above all, he is YOUR president, you should atleast respect him in that manner, whether you voted for him or not. I always say, if you dont like it, leave the US, or do something about it yourselves. I hear France likes pacifists, they could use a few more residents....... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Bush's approval rating I will say this... I have never met Bush, I have never shared a meal with him, I have never met his family or his peers and I have never gotten to personally know him... despite that, I can still tell you with full confidence that I think he is a complete tool and should not be in office. You are very correct in saying that he didnt ask for 9/11, Katrina, or for the media to report on his life... but, guess what, he got them. All. He chose to go to war with Afghanistan to hunt down Osama Bin Laden, which, honestly... I supported 100%. That !!!!!!! killed who knows how many innocent people that day... and Justice is due. However, Bush took it upon himself to ILLEGALLY INVADE Iraq. He went in there, originally, because he "suspected" WMD in that country. So... he says he wants to search the country for the WMD. We go in, find what? Not one WMD. So, then, Bush says "Sh*t, that didnt work, gotta find another reason to get Saddam." and says that Saddam is lying about the lack of WMD and is hiding them. So, then, after MORE searching... still nothing. Bush then takes Saddam in to put him on trial for genocide. Later on, it comes out that "original intel" could have been wrong and that there were no WMD. But, all of a sudden, the REAL goal of our invasion wasnt to find WMD, but to dethrone Saddam. So, he lied to us. Either the Admin f*ked up with incorrect intel or it f*ked up by lying to the American public. America is not the world police. America is not the save all end all of the world. We need to worry more about the people here. The people that the government is supposed to be serving. AMERICANS. The who knows how many Americans dying from things they shouldnt be every day. Diseases, brutal winters for the homeless, malnourished low income families... things that could be well on their way to being fixed if Bush hadnt of spent BILLIONS of dollars on a war we should NOT be fighting and invested it into things on our own soil to help us. Theres much more I could say but I dont feel like developing carpil tunnel today. I will say this however. Bush may be our president, but regardless of that, he will NOT get my respect. You have to earn respect, not "just have it" cause of your title. People that agree with you and people that agree with me have an equal right to be in the US. Just like people that agree with you have the right to say "Yay Bush, good job!", people like me have the right to say "F*k Bush". |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Bush's approval rating It is yours and every Americans right to think that, yes. I know alot of people do not like our president, but where I take personal offense is when someone says something along the lines of what was said in the post before mine. It is indeed a slap in all our faces who have been over there, and done what we were asked to do. I was there (well not at the hole where he was picked up out of, but "there") that Saturday that Saddam was captured, and you know what. The morale was higher than anytime I have ever seen over there. Every American military member I knew of, wanted to be there, and was glad we were a part of it in however manner we were there for. What alot of civilians do not know is, they are digging up weapons everyday, stuff that isnt reported on the news, and people ask why? Cause it is not their business to know yet. Maybe someday, in my lifetime or after, it will all be released. I know this for a personal fact, having seen some of this junk in the armory. I wish I could talk about the crap I saw there and help people realize there is a method to the madness. Everyone just wants to pull out and drop what we've done. Well folks, its not that simple, you cant just drop out of something you started, we have millions of civilians in that region counting on us for support and to finish what we started. This isnt going to happen overnight, which is what CNN tells us we want it to be. That is the biggest problem in this whole thing, the media. They dont need to be imbedded with troops, they dont need to be standing under the fire fights, they dont need to be showing schematic drawings of our jets and weapons, they dont need to report on the number of troops with diahrea that day, or who cant find a clean pair of socks. "HOLY CRAP, get them out of there, they dont have socks" The coalition forces need to finish what they started, and it will take time. People will die, but it is our choice to join the military, it is our choice people. So the next time we are at the airport coming home, dont give us the middle finger and nasty glares, thank YOUR military for keeping you safe at night in the comfort of YOUR home, and for doing the tasks asked of them not because they wanted to, but because they love their country, and would do whatever it takes to make it safe. |

Bush is just a figurehead at this point anyway. He makes a convenient scape goat. And no, I don't support the war. I DO support our troops tho. ![]() We are all broken and wounded in this world. Some choose to grow strong at the broken places. --Harold J. Duarte-Bernhardt | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Bush's approval rating Bo, dont get me wrong. I have respect for those that are willing to grab the gun and jump in front of me or any other American citizen to protect us because they are our millitary. When my best friend was over there and he came back, at the airport, we were huggin guys and gals that we didnt know. Not because we are odd stranger hugging people, but because they took up arms to fight for us Americans. People like you and everyone over there and everyone in the military are the reason that I AM able to say "F*k Bush"... the reason we are free. Please please please do not mistake my feelings for bush as my feelings for our military. He is using our military for things that I, personally, dont approve of. Yes, I think other people should be free. Yes, I think that other people should be abe to have the same rights that I have. Am I willing to sacrifice my, my sisters, my best friends, my neighbors, or my countrymens lives for it? No. |
