we are having problems and cannot access the stratics forums or the game, icq is also unable. our cable modem is not working right, please let Jayde and others know we are unable to access stratics or game till after tueday, a service man will be here then to fix or replace the modem

Yeah, Id say theres a better chance that its a firewall or router issue.

We have no clue why we are able to reach UOForms, yet unable to do anything else, we cannot get to gmail or hotmail either, everything was fine the other day. Yet yesterday it went down. Both PC's are doing the very same thing. If it the router then we may be down even longer as it will take us a while to get a new router [$].

As for firewall, we have no clue why that would be a problem now as there has been no changes to that in ages.

We know more tomorrow once the cable service man comes.

did you try doing a restore to a previous day when all things were working the way you like? ...
maybe that would help filter out what is going on ...
we haven't heard of anyone else having a problem reading stratics boards

You only want to "X" out the first 2 or 3 hops. That way someone could try pinging them from their location to see if they are accepting other traffic, reasonable latency, that kind of thing.

The reason to "X" out the first couple is that your pcs IP is in of the first 2 usually (2nd if you have a router, I believe) and you dont want that to be general knowledge...too many bad people in the world.

well finally after 3 days we are able to get in game!

Sounds like a DNS entry issue. It can take 24-72 hours for DNS tables to update. Too many lazy admins out there (not here, but as ISPs and the like). If you can get to some places, but not others by name, kinda smells like DNS/routing issues. Wouldn't have been much you could do about it 'in-house', with out some techno geekie magic.
