| Wilki Speaks to the Frustrated Player Base Wilki: I've really tried to avoid these garbage threads recently, but since you insist on grossly misquoting me...
I'm not expecting you to "buy" anything. When I make a post, it's with the best information I have at the time. As I said then, things change. They always have, and they always will. Developing UO is a fluid activity, and as much as we might want something to get out ASAP, that isn't always the case in the end. Player: This was in october where he says he does not see why the pvp fixes cannot go into pub 37. Wilki: You're mistaken. Quoting myself, "Can I "promise" they'll be in Pub38? No. On the other hand, I really don't see why they won't be."
Pub 38 != Pub 37. Furthermore, I was talking about the 3 bandaid fixes, which most certainly were in Publish 38.
I understand the frustration about Pub39, and we share that frustration, but misrepresenting my previous post in this manner isn't helpful. Are you trying to make the point that you want PvP fixed? We know that. Are you trying to make the point that things changed? Yep, we know that too. Before the New Year, we fully intended to have more PvP content in Pub39, but as MrTact has alluded to, the choice became rushing some changes out just to have some changes out, or fixing a few things and doing it right for the long term.
Not an excuse, just the way it is. Player: Great post man. I've been waiting for SOMEONE to come up w/ a post or remark from these jokers that they made 3-4 months ago. I read some of the stuff but couldn't find quotes. I DO remember them PROMISING that "pub 38 will be a bandaid fix and pub 39 will be the big PvP publish". Wilki: Yeah, wow, he really stuck it to us, eh? :-)
I probably said the quote you're thinking of, because at the time, that's what we expecting to happen. Player: Well, after a big song and dance, we're basically back at square one. Wilki: Not quite. We've got some of the huge damage issues under control, and dog archers are getting addressed. Also, you'll now have sticky health bars to make targeting multiple opponents much easier (yes this includes pets). We're also fixing some of the lame flagging bugs, and addressing bow damage.
That's hardly "square one".
It's not the finish line, but it's a good start. |

and this is why the devs can't give exact dates and times for things to be fixed... I'm glad we have them here, if i were them i would have left a long while ago

I say we all band together and tell the Devs that we want a complete fix by the 1st of March, 2006 or else we all quit (set the hard date, state what we want, and what will happen if it doesn't happen). Then when the 20th Feb, 2006 comes around, state that we will do a "Band-aid" quit and only delete 1 (useless) char on said date and push the all quit to 1st of April, 2006. Then on the 1st of April, if everyone isn't happy, we say that within the next following publishes we will hopefully have everyone quit until there are 2 people left playing UO, both will be dog archer/nox/dexxer/mages and PvP will be balanced.
Hey, it could work.
(bored at work, sorry for the intended joke.)

It's a funny little half Doberman, half Chihuahua who is disgruntled with his illegitimacy and is out for vengeance. Watch out for his poisoned arrow trick.. he uses dog poo....
