Unfortunately, its a "Wny earn it when you can steal it?" mentality.

Is there a file thatll pop up thru task manager that would let someone know if they are infected?

I understand most of the major anti virus people have it covered now.
Make sure your definitions are upto date, and that your checker is set to 'all files' rather than 'infectable files'. This file type was previously thought to be uninfectable.
Thought wrong didn't they?

I'd like to think that hackers in general like to hack not for gain in money or riches, but to say that they can exploit large corporation's supposed "secure" programs to point that they can do anything. I have an acquaintance who is writing such a virus right now. I don't think he's doing it for personal gain, he's doing it to say that he can.

Its people who find out about how to do it from hackers who want to gain from it, not the hackers themselves..

This is the way I like to think, but I doubt its acctually true!
