Only once and that was weeks ago...lol

My house is on the mainland just north of Skara Brea (31o 54'S 35o 22'W)

If someone else has 50 parrots all who parrot... then something must be wrong with the house!
I wonder... is your house in Malas? I have a friend with a house in Luna and her parrots don't even flap their wings.
They flap their wings..... and speak only when I feed them, and only 'canned' speech.

Re: Parrots

I have 3 and barely feed them and they range from 1 to 3 months old...

when someone is at my house (which is in Malas) or I'm locking/unlocking house items, they do occasionally repeat what is being said.

The two at my hubbys house, also Malas, are usually quiet but then he's not much of a talker himself and it's not in a high traffic area.

Re: Parrots

So is that the consensus then? That Malas has a silencing effect on Parrots? I am really curious.. I have tried for weeks to get any response at all out of them. I even bought the extra ones just to see if the first two I got were 'broken'.

Re: Parrots

Oh I should edit my post then. I thought I wrote it down that my house is in Malas. Maybe just some areas in Malas are.

I really hope you get your parrots talking Snowy.

Re: Parrots

Thanks. I have a new "chef" so I make lots of wafers to feed them.. they are greedy and eat them up as many as I offer... You would think they would be grateful enough to repeat my text for me.... sigh...

Re: Parrots

Our parrots (malas and scattered throughout the home) seem to like saying ...

"i wish to lock this down"
"i wish to release this" and the infamous ...
"sorry i can't help thee with that"

seriously .. they seem to have a weird sense of timing

Re: Parrots

My sister has an 18 week old parrot but it's spoken and repeated phrases since the beginning. I come in and say bugger or some such nonsense sometimes then feed it then say it again and she says it. While we're in there talking she repeats about every 10th phrase or so usually approximately.
