Re: Family Game?

I have often thought about how long UO would be around. I hope it never goes away...it is just too much fun. I admit, there are some days I need a break but for the most part I truly enjoy the game.
Some day, I plan on having a family and with that some little Trajans running around. I would like to either be able to have my own little UO world or the EA one still running so they could play once they were old enough to understand how to play. This of course is way off, and the thought of it going away is weird.
If the EA one does eventually shut down, I believe there will be plenty of Player Run Shards around to satisfy our little UO needs. I just have not found any PRS that is as good as the EA ones.

On an aside...not really family here...trying to find some Marines in my unit that play UO...that way I can find out what shards they are on and pull rank on them LOL. That would just be too much. If they are in Felucca they can just fireball me...but in Trammel...would be funny. It would be in fun of course. Muahahahaha!

Our sons got us playing, one has quit (long work hours and a baby to occupy his time), but the other has gotten his gf playing. So 4 of us here.

Re: Family Game?

Well I'm 58 (59 on 6th Jan) ....I've been playing for 3years 9months

I once played along side a Lady who's Husband, 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law played. They helped me through a few difficult months between losing the "young" titleand having just enough experiance to survive with caution.

Well now I have my own Son-in-law playing....I think that having family play along side you can give you a certain amount of security knowing there are people you can depend upon in times of need. That extra "help" when you die far away from others and need a quick rezz without wandering through the woods looking for the old faithful wandering healer.

Re: Family Game?

A couple of coworkers and RL friends got my hubby into it and then I gave it a try to see what he was so involved with all the time, lol... Wow, it was fun when we had two working computers on a DSL connection... now we're back to one on a remote dial up... sucks.....

It's the only online game I've tried and dont plan on giving it up anytime soon, though our soon to arrive child will take priority and we'll be putting uo on the 'back burner' for awhile.

Another RL friend of ours has a son who also plays using his account... talk about things not being where you left them or things being sold that you wanted to keep... If others are going to stick with the game, suggest seperate accounts after they give it a try.

Hail Jomo. That is pretty much how long I have played... BTW Happy Birthday. I turned 57 on New Years' Eve. Most of my good gametimes were with family members. They all play so sporadically anymore that I have become a real 'loner'. It's nice to know there are others out there with similar situations.

Re: Family Game?

My 3 brothers dragged me into beta late Aug '97. Have had the same account since 10/1/97. At one time I had my three brothers and 3 nephews in game from about 99 till 02.
I'm still in UO while they have moved around to the various other MMO looking for the mecca of online gaming.

Re: Family Game?

Thanks Jomo, but I think in my whole life I have had only one birthday party. It was three years ago. I had told my oldest daughter that I had NEVER had a birthday party. She decided that had to change, so she invited some neighbors and friends to our normal New Year's Eve party. It was nice of her and of them for coming, but what I want for my next one is for NO ONE to come visit and just spend it sitting by the Christmas Tree, with some candles burning and nice music and my husband. It's been way too many years since we got to spend it alone together!!

So... Happy Birthday February 6!!!! Have a really good one!
