Hacking of Account situations reported on Sonoma ...

It appears there is a hacking situation arising on our shard that we need to be aware of ....

Before posting the alert please note that EA has information on hacking and what steps we are to take ...
What should you do if you think your account has been hacked?
and ... What should I do if my Ultima Online account has been hacked?

There is a new website out that is a forum. ominous-hq.com. This web site is sent to people through icq or some other way and when you register it steals the specified e-mail information and then uses that e-mail address and password to get your ea games account info. WARNING if you receive a e-mail, icq, or anything with this link in it DO NOT GO THERE. My guildmates account was just hacked. Due to fast thinking and a helpful website we saved his stuff but be warned do not register to anything you dont know about. This link saved his account, please bookmark it as if your account gets hacked you will not be thinking strait.

This person tricked my member into registering here by saying this was a site used to buy and sell items in game. This is your warning do not go there.

**HACKER ALERT** On UO Shard SONOMA, not twenty minutes ago, a character named **** directed me to a website. He told me they (whoever ran the site) were buying Blue Soulstones, which I was spamming that I was selling at Luna. Fifteen minutes after registration (I was on two accounts at the time), I got kicked from one account, and then I see my char's name speaking in Guild chat on the other. I called EA, and they informed me that my email and password on the account had already been changed. Luckily, my E^E guildmates in TS were able to distract the hacker until I was able to reset the information.

LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ALL - If someone in UO directs you to an unknown website, do not register there on an email that is linked to anything important to you. Shortly after my account was hacked, I received several confirmation emails about service passwords that had been changed; all the services were linked to the same email. My email password has since been changed. Do not register on forums with the account name/pass that you use for UO, or anything important to you for that matter. And, as is common sense, NEVER give out your account info

Thank you EA, and to my fellow members in E^E, for helping me secure what was rightfully mine, before it was too late.

- Sean, Machine Gun Mimi, FruchtNektar, E^E SONOMA

Feel MORE than [censored] free to PM me for the char's name, seeing as it's against ROC to post it in public.
Please all, in my frenzy, I didn't mention. I'd like to give a special thanks to the broker Africanus. He sold me a 90 day Gametime code MONTHS ago, and he still had it on record to this day, and was able to get it to me in mere minutes. Verifying this code with EA was the only way I was able to get my account back. Were it not for his effort, I would not have my account right now. I highly recommend him should you be in need of a broker's services in the future. Africanus, thank you so very much.
The thing to remember is NEVER use your UO account name, password, or EA registered Email address for any sites not directly affiliated to UO/EA home sites and when someone sends you a url by IM or Email be extremely cautious on opening the links ...
