The Hussein trial

What, (if any) thoughts do you have on it?

Re: The Hussein trial

As much as I hate the guy, I hope he gets offed ASAP. If it goes on forever it will be a slap in the face of all of us who have spent time over there. I was there when he got captured, and it was the best morale booster we could have gotten.

Re: The Hussein trial

He is going to 'posture' all the way to the end. His rhetoric will not go away until he does. The thing is, we have to 'bend over backwards' just so the world can see that he did get a 'fair' trial. (As if that were possible, or deserved) Very few things in this world actually work out 'fairly' in the first, second or third place... but we keep hoping that somewhere along the line things will square up and justice will be served.

I read once that none of us should be asking for justice, because none of us really want it for ourselves in the long run. What we really want is to be treated with dignity and allowed to enjoy our lives. Justice is God's realm and I am thankful that I am being given more of the good in life than I deserve. My consistent prayer is that those who have less than I should be getting at least as good as I, and those who do evil to others be stopped with minimal damage to the rest of the world.

Re: The Hussein trial

Yea I remember watching TV at the time he was captured, the news flash came up on the bottom of the screen, that was a great day

I didn't honestly thing we'd ever capture him, I thought he'd go into hiding like Osama.

As for the trial, I think they should just get it over with asap and kill him off.

Tough call. In prison rotting away he will be a source of anguish to any followers possibly enciting action, dead hes a martyr that died for his cause.

In all honesty, I wish one of his own people had killed him. That really would have boded best for the future...

That ship already sailed... I am sure a lot of people were hoping to find a body, not a living person, when they finally got him...

I didn't think they would either actually. It was a pleasant surprise when they did.

Re: The Hussein trial

I remember waking up in my room and seeing it on the tv how we caught him. Everyone there spent the whole day watching tv and cheering whenever they showed him coming out of the hole! It was a great sight!! When we heard they brought him down to Qatar where we were at, at the time, we all wanted to find him and kill him ourselves!!

I've never figured out how to be gracefully humble without appearing weak.

Nor have I figured out how to be gracefully passionate without appearing arrogant.

In the end, I always seem to be arrogant and weak instead of humbly passionate.
