what shard should i play?

Im a new player and want to get on one with some action and lots of players, what is the best?

Hmm, you need to pick a shard that's got a low ping, where abouts are you based? America? IF so, East or west coast?

If east coast, i'd try Atlantic
If west, i'd try Pacific.

Yea, i'd say so

Best idea is to login, get yourself a horse and run around
If you can run around on a horse with no lag, then i'd choose Pacific.

If you don't lag on the shard, I'd suggest Catskills.
If you do lag, then Pacific is probably a good choice, and would one of the servers you should see the least lag on.

If you go to Start, Run, and type in "cmd" (no quotes) it will bring up a little black window with the C:/ prompt.

From there you can type "ping shardname.owo.com" (no quotes here either) and it will send out four pings and give you 2 numbers. One of these ends in "ms", meaning milliseconds. Generally you want this number under 50 for cable connection, under 80 for DSL, and Im not too sure on a good ping for dial-up...maybe someone else will post that.

The other number you get that has a "%" in it is packet loss. This number should be as close to 0 as possible. If its 2 or over, gameplay is going to be very herky-jerky.

If anything is unclear, or you have any problems, post again...

go by your ping first. after you narrow that down to 5 shards, ask us here again.

go by your ping! you dont weant to be stuck on some shard you have a high ping to because youve made freinds there *cuddles her sonoma guildmates* and not be able to leave..

Baja is a West Coast shard. I get a decent ping and I live in South Dakota.

Go on Ping of course but if you like Lots of people pick a shard out of the ones you dont lag on. Same for if you like private
