Treasure hunting question

I was wondering, I went looking through the profession forums on stratics and the treasure hunting forum and noticed almost all of the templates used magery.

are there any that use ninjutsu I was thinking of using hiding stealth and ninjutsu to make a good fairly non combat sneaking type thief, not stealing from other players but stealing from monsters or doing treasure chests.

would anyone have any idea what would be a good template?
so far this is all I can think of

Hiding
Stealth
Ninjutsu
Lockpicking
Stealing
Snooping
Cartography

the main problem I can see is I'd be missing out on detect hidden and remove trap, how essential is that?

Re: Treasure hunting question

Very few people use Detect or Remove. The reason people use Magery is to have Telekinesis to pop the chests from a distance, removing the need for either of the aforementioned skills and have a way to attack/defend.

With the Burglars Bandana and Shadow Dancer legs, I htink that is a partly viable template.

If the char is human, theyll have enough Magery (Jack of Trades) to cast Tele off a scroll around 80% or so.

Problem with T-chests would be dealing with the spawn. You wont be able to Invis, so youll have to try to high tail it (very tough on 5's and 6's) then hide and go back to lure them off. Not impossible, but could take some getting used to.

Re: Treasure hunting question

You could always go Thieves Guild and stealth around Fel looking for easy marks

Other than that, cant say I see much of one but dont discount sneaking through dungeons! I made some great cake just grabbing stuff out of corpses in the ML dungeons and popping dungeon chests can be fairly lucrative as well with very little effort.

Its also a great way to learn exactly where everything is and what it looks like. I used to take my thief somewhere Id never been before when I was bored. Snooping around for new hunting spots, training grounds and the like...
