Pally temp

OK, so ive finally decided i want to get a decent PvM char .. (i need the money)... anyway, I was thinking of going with a Pally just because im not really in to taming (I have to admire anyone who can take the time to train that skill) and my attempts in to a bard are... well it just bores the hell out of me.. (not that theres anything wrong with bards)

so, I've got the basic template down

Chiv
Focus
Swords
Tacts
Resist

^ used one of my advanced char tokens

now im a bit torn on the final two skills... I was thinking healing and Ana, but Perry and Ana seems like it would be a good choice to (ana still gives a damage bonus right?)

so right now i was thinking something like

115 Chiv
115 Swords (maybe 120 eventually)
110 Tacts
110 Resist
100 Focus
110 Perry

and then i have 50-60 skill left for ???

Also I have no idea how or what Bushido is like

any tips, advice, help is great

Thanks A lot

Re: Pally temp

For PvM I would add Healing and Anatomy to that template. These new critters hit real hard now. The only I was able to fit 7 skills was with 110 scrolls and jewelry. I'm running around 6 seconds on a bandage to heal and it frees my mana for special moves and Chivalry spells. (Holy Light, Holy Light, Holy Light....)

My PvM Pally has:

110 Swords
110 Tactics
110 Parry
100 Anatomy
110 Chivalry (80 real, I use jewelry)
110 Focus
100 Healing

I have 720 real points and a lot of jewelry. He does very well against most critters. I've never had resist on a character so I really can't say much about it. The poison I get is easily cured by Chivalry or Healing, the Paralyze doesn't last long (next hit removes it)

Re: Pally temp

Definately Healing and Anat.. Close Wounds will suck your mana pool dry if you have to spam it... nice to have a 4 second bandage going at the same time. Nothing worse than trying to run off to heal only to find you don't have enough mana to cast Divine Fury..

My template is almost identicle to Tuk's except that some of my skills haven't trained up all the way yet. Even untrained I can farm Ogre Lords and max out my karma and make 60K or so an hour.

Re: Pally temp

I used swords on my pally.

Swords
Tact
Parry
Heal
Anat
Chiv
Focus

Each at 100. Ive heard that archer pallys are the best though. It'd be a major b***h to have to switch your swords for archery though.

Re: Pally temp

Yeah, I bet. Archery > Swords + Parry

Plus, whats awesome, having archery with say, a composit bow (best range) will save you on MP costs and bandages since youll only have to worry about magic damage, not melee.

Re: Pally temp

I have to agree with healing..

For a long time I used my pally with no healing..but it's just too much of a pain. Close Wounds is good is I'm doing little things....but a pally's spells teamed up with your special moves can be lethal, so my mana was always being used from that. Healing is nice to have and then have Close Wounds for more of an emergancy.

And an archery pally does rock.

Hmm I think my template is..

Fencing (110)
Tactics
Anatomy
Chivalry
Healing
Parry
Focus

My archer is basically the same, but take out fencing and parry....for Archery and Fletching hehe

Re: Pally temp

I was thinking the same thing about archery... but since i did the advance char thing i got stuck with the swords.. ill just soul stone it to someone who can use it and train up Archery... yay

thanks every one

Re: Pally temp

Archery was pretty easy to train. I think I did it in maybe 2-3 weeks, a few hours at nights and the weekends. And no golems for me
