Message From Zilo on the Event:

For the Sieglets:

Zilo: I am just going to jump in for a second to clear some things up.

The event area was not changed into a guard zone.

Kalag, with the intention of keeping the event moving on, and not stalling indefinitely, created an NPC (Blue) that when attacked, retaliated like a guard.

This had the effect of making it feel like it was a guard zone, and effectively stopping most of the PVP. I would think I was in a guard zone as well, if I heard the teleport and clang sounds.

Unfortunately, PVP shouldn't be hindered during Siege Perilous events, and in this case it was.

Anissa Darkstar did not request the protection, and completely understands the nature of Siege.

Kalag now understands what happens during events on Siege.

I apologize for the frustrations that were caused.

Re: Message From Zilo on the Event:

When an event actually takes place while I'm in game, I've always enjoyed them, as a ghost. Anissa is a darling during the events as well. Was good to get some clarification as to "what" happened during this particular event, and a relief to know it didn't occur as a result of Anissa's request. Yet, the "why" it happened still has to be answered. The GM in this instance is still playing the ignorance card in my opinion. Playing stupid and sending a canned message to a single player because they're too busy or just didn't reasearch a problem enough is one thing.. that player can just re-request assistance a more competent GM. Ruining an event for dozens of people and then just shrugging and saying sorry (indirectly) just doesn't cut it in my book.

Ah well.. hopefully every GM now has a sticky note on thier monitor at EA that says "Double Check The Shard! Are You On Siege Perilous?!"

Re: Message From Zilo on the Event:

I have not been able to catch a EM event on Siege for a long time, last one I was at was in 2003. Do you any idea if there is a standard day they do something, most shard have a idea when to expect an event.

Re: Message From Zilo on the Event:

Typically Friday nights.. I think its about 7PM PST.. Feyre posted the typical time they've taken place in the past on the Siege forum in the post that Thrad is referring to. If you're in game you'll get an ingame announcement. And I think Siege has a gem or latern or something similar to Sonoma's notification system at Serp's Hold.
