Hunt Nite Hangover Thread

Once again, we faced the beasts, collected our death robes and came out victorious in the end! As usual, Blighted was our toughest challenge I believe. Abscess is one NASTY hydra!!!!!

There were a couple of pauses while quests were finished up, keys collected and waiting on other groups to complete the peerless. There were, of course, a couple of glitches as there always are on Friday nites but on the whole, I think everyone had a good time.

We began the evening meeting up at Yew gate in Trammel and dividing into the Red Team and the White Team. The white team gathered up their bone machetes and headed off to confront Melisande while the red team headed into Twisted Weald to take on Dreadhorn.

After dying several times along the way, the red team collected all their keys and faced Dreadhorn. Dreadhorn was no match for the power of this group and was quickly defeated. As the white team was still engaged with Melisande, the red team decided to try Dreadhorn for round two. Once again, Dreadhorn quickly succumbed to the might of the red team.

The red team then left to meet Melisande, stopping first to pass of an Irk's brain to the white team for their trip to Dreadhorn. Alas, whereas Dreadhorn was no match for the red team, Blighted Grove would not prove as easy. Abscess, Tangle, Thrasher, several Insane Dryads and a coil or two attempted to delay our fearless adventurers. After some time spent dealing with the mob and regrouping, Rachie Manning completed the Quest with some help from Jay and Meleficant (sp?) (I tried to help but just wound up dead if you can believe that) and we were off to tackle the lovely Lady Melisande.

Unfortunately, we hit another snag once Melisande was dead in that many in the party did not get looting rights. I fear there is another bug in ML where if the corpse of something you DO have looting rights to falls on top of something you DON'T, you cannot access either corpse. Not sure how long that's been around and I've never seen it on a peerless before but it struck tonite with a vengeance.

On the whole, I think it was a successful evening and I'd once again like to thank everyone who came out and played. A special thanks to our party leaders who hung in there and worked with their groups making sure everyone got where they needed to be.

One thing I've noticed over the past few weeks is that we ARE becoming a group. We are learning how to fight together and look out for each other and that's an absolutely awesome thing to see!

I want to take just a second to once again say I'm sorry for some of the difficulties. Please understand if you come to these, they ARE disorganized to a certain extent. We try very hard to provide information and instructions but organizing 30+ people every week has unique challenges. We are getting better and better each week but there is always going to be some problem to be dealt with. For the most part, everyone is absolutely fantastic and understanding and I truly appreciate it more than you know.

The Friday nite hunts are meant for fun and to give everyone a chance to get into the new dungeons and see how they work. Perhaps to give people a chance to figure out if they can come back with a smaller group and work the peerless themselves while learning some strategy in the safety of a larger group. The loot is not going to be what it would be if there were only 10 people. But the Friday hunts aren't solely about the loot. Yes, that is a nice bonus but trust me when I tell you, I lose TONS each week at these. This is our chance to meet new people, become a community, have some fun, and do some things we might not otherwise get to do.

I love seeing everyone on Friday nites and I truly enjoy meeting new people and seeing old friends. We ARE still learning but we ARE getting better and better every week. So, thank you to everyone who comes out and participates and helps out. I'll see you all next week.

P.S. Once college football season is over, we'll try to do these on Friday AND Saturday nites for anyone interested.

***Update*** Epona made a good point over on Stratics about the looting problem. Several people got the "You may not loot this corpse" message. It could also have been the way the peerless fell on top of player corpses, etc. *sigh* Either way, it sure is aggravating!

Farming is what you do for loot, the hunt nites are just about fun for me.

Re: Hunt Nite Hangover Thread

A hint about that "you cannot loot this corpse" message.
If you dismount and remount you will be able to loot.
