<li>Start the game and log-in with your name and password.
<li>In most cases you’ll find your characters and property waiting for you. (We can’t guarantee all the in-game possessions will still be available, but in most cases they will be.)

<b>Former players in good standing will be able to log in and play Ultima Online using their former account names and passwords. This "free period" will last from Sept. 27, 3 a.m. PST to until Oct. 10, 3 a.m. PST.</b><p>

<b>Q:</b> I would like to re-activate my account. How can I do that?<br>
<b>A:</b> Follow these easy steps:<br>

<li>Go to www.ea.com and click on the <b>Login</b> link in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This will take you to the EA.com login page where you can enter your account name and password.
<ul>
<li><b>Note</b>: If you're already logged in to EA.com or Pogo, you can skip this step.

<li>Once you're logged in, you'll return to the EA Homepage and you'll see Welcome at the top of the screen. If you don't see this <b>Welcome</b> message, you will need to attempt to log in again.
<li>Click on the <b>My Account</b> link in the upper right hand corner of the screen and you'll be prompted to log in to the My Account page with the same username and password you've just used.
<li>Click on the <b>Subscription Info</b> tab and then click the Re-activate your Subscription link next to the game you'd like to reactivate.

ok, im a lil confused on something, when you reactivate your account you have access to all the new material until oct 10th then have to buy ML.. or you reactivate your account and then have to by ML to see if you like it....

Sounds like the same "we want you back" promo as was distributed at the same time as the Evil Decor items.. you get to play for free for a few days with whatever version you installed. If you don't have ML you can't use ML stuff or go to ML areas.. same with AoS, SE, etc. Basically just allowing folks to reactivate w/o charging them the $12.99..

It's just one of those things to get people to reactivate old accounts. They do not get to play ML content.

It's good and bad in some reasons....bad because they don't get to see what's new if they haven't upgraded recently.

But it's a good thing because people who haven't played for a bit, or forgot what the lure of UO was to them, get a chance to come back and play a bit again. See if they want to spend the money. They are intelligent enough (I hope) to play for a few days and then decide if the ML content is for them or not.

If I recall, for those that have billing info on their account, it will begin billing them after the trial period over if they forget to cancel the subscription before the freebee is over. Sort of an AOL tactic.. hehe.. but I only heard this 2nd hand, so could be wrong.

I believe it's not supposed to do that...it's not supposed to just start billing you, but it happened to me one time. Not during the Evil Item one..the promotion before that one.

We reactivated a third account to do some house swapping during that time, then a month later I thought, why do I still have access to this?
It was set (from before) to charge three months worth on the account....and when my trial was up, it had charged it Sucked at the time...but we became dependant on the account and now we keep it! LOL

I think it was just a screw up though because as far as I know, it's not supposed to happen. And like Ki said, it wasn't like that last time...but one can never be too careful.

Nope.. not supposed to.. but still a glitch in the billing system I suspect.. better safe than sorry.. if you don't plan on playing after the trial period, cancel that subscription.
