Messing around on Siege

I have been kind of dipping my toe in the Siege pool for a while..testing the waters a bit. But, I never really committed to it. However, now that I have made a pretty good DOOM thief on Legends, I decided to make one on Siege. Only thing is, I don't know what a good thief on Siege would look like. I want to be a dungeon thief...but that would mean I need lockpicking...and on Siege detect hidden and remove traps? If that is the case, I will have to get rid of magery and meditation...which are both in the 70's...not great but better than 50. Oh, and I can get rid of Eval Int with that too. I guess what I am asking is...what skills should a thief in Siege have...I don't know if I can be a town thief...although that may be fun too. Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated. I want to finally make the move and stop my balancing act on the fence. :cheesy:

Hey Traj... I'd suggest a town thief.. but hitting the champ spawns and stealing scrolls and such. Player run events are also good hits for thieves but far and few between unfortunately.

There are some REALLY good thieves on Siege.. Dave is probably the one of the best.. drop me a Q and I'll get you in touch with him for tips.

Meh.. no big deal.. there are actually several really, really good thieves on Siege. Feyre for example is known for his IDOC camping... John is a mischevous thief that likes to hit all the player run events especially those which people will be carrying gifts such as weddings and birthdays. He nabbed a +25 stat scroll off me during my induction to I^A.. I had completely forgotten they weren't blessed. *laugh*

I don't have contact info for John, and Feyre.. well depending on his mood, it may or may not be a pleasant interaction.. *giggles*

Edit: Duh!!!! I forgot our own UOForum resident.. Rico! La!

Chime in Rico... share your knowledge with Traj!

Well, since I am not on Siege anymore, I might as well let the cat out of the bag. Do you recall having a +20 stolen from you at the tavern in Iantown?

Sorry, I couldn't help it...I put on my disguise kit and just had to have that damned thing. YOu what's worse...I never did sell that thing, I think it's still sitting in my bank on my innactive account...la

Ha! I thought that was John of SP that did that!!! Yah.. I wrote that off as pure stupidity on my part. Was freshly inducted in to I^A and distracted by all the festivities that followed. To make it even more embarassing.. I lived right next door to Se'an's house which is where the ceremony took place and I received my scroll. I could have easily dropped it off on the way to the tavern. *slaps forhead*

Feyre has the record though for stealing the most from me.. he sat and chatted with me for a good 10 min's while waiting for an IDOC to drop next door to my house. Wasn't til he thanked me for the weapons, scrolls and bandages that I realized he'd been snooping my pack the whole time. *laugh*

Re: Messing around on Siege

The first thing that needs to be figured is what kind of theif you want to be. A crate or a PvP thief. Without knowing this, it's hard to help with his template, but start with this.

120 Stealing
100 Hiding
100 Snooping
80 Stealth

400 points right there. 320 to go.

Ninjar skill is good for getting away.
Magery is needed if you are going to solo and get around with a gate.
Some form of healing (heal/ana),SS, chiv.

I have never been a crate, perse, so I can't help you out with the lockpicking and remove trap...la

Re: Messing around on Siege

Only 80 stealth? Why not just make it to GM? Just curious.

Only 80 is needed for no-fail stealth in leather armor... I currently have 109 and dropping.. going 90 cause there are a few plate pieces I like to wear.

Is this a spawn site? I haven't done the citadel yet... I've been enjoying the peace and quiet of the classic dungeons since the ML release. The only monster that seems to regularly reveal me are Ogre Lords.. which is confusing cause they're pretty stupid lugs... oh.. and stupid ravens reveal me every time as well in the wilderness... again.. kind of dumb, since i can wander through a flock of swoops undetected.
