I got faster gains than that just choppin trees. I would recommen the ledge in Fell Dellucia right behind the bank. I around 5 hours I have gotten from 50 to 85.5 and the logs are plentiful with the new refresh rate. THOUSANDS from a tree before it ran out. Actually i got 14k logs from one last night. Seems to be goin pretty fast still.

As for the golem thing, you can do it pritty much right away even if you dont have much skill in the weapon that poison axe is by getting a lower tinkered skill crafter to assemble it for you. The skill in wrestling of my golem I made at 70 (or whatever skill it is when you are first able to make a golem) and it has 30 wrestling skill. With Hci and even at like 50 swords, you should rairly miss your mark so you can gain in lumberjacking a little faster without worring about getting your swords up if you dont want to keep the weaponskill. As the swing delay on lumberjacking has changed though, might as well just go out there and chop up britania. *on my list of things to do, on three shards*

I'm with ya Flutter,
I'll tell ya a secret *whispers* I get better gains in lumberjacking when I chop the trees in formation, goin from tree to tree north to south till I hit a no tree area then south to north till I hit a no tree area. Go up one way then over a few trees then down the way u came. I am at 97 and sometimes I still get 2 gains off one tree that way. WooT!!

Oh yeah, I tried the Golem thing and I only got 2 gains in an hour so I went to chopping trees and got 13 gains in an hour at 87.5. Chopping is definetley faster

I created an elf char from scratch to get resources for me. I transfered my smiths mining to him, so he has GM mining, he is currently working on lumberjacking. The reason i created him instead of changing another char is because he is going to be solely a resource gatherer, and i wanted to free up room on my smith for other skills like tailoring and carpentry, he is currently 119 smithing/96 tinker. Elfs not only can get the rare stuff easier, but their ability to get LOADS of resources are awe inspiring.

The only thing you might want to consider is putting Carp on your resource gatherer. You can still turn regular logs into boards with 0 Carp, but if you want to make b oards for any other types of would you will need more Carpentry. There is a list of what skill somewhere but I'm thinking it corresponds to the lumber skill needed to harvest the wood. (ie. 65 Lumber to harvest Oak, and 65 Carp to turn Oak into boards. ) Just a thought.

Doh! Im a dumbass, Of course u can just bulk order the logs then give em to your smithy and let him make boards with them all. Although I gotta tell you I turned 120k Oak into boards yesterday 250 logs at a time and MAN is that BORING!!!
